Automotive: crazy in Switzerland too...

"ZH 24 went" for 299000 CHF You don't even own it - you rent in from the Government for as long as you pay taxes and reside in the canton. You can't resell it but you can pass it on within your family. I'd rather take a regular plate for 60 CHF and a nice car for the rest... Cheers Richard

Automotive: OOPS! I hope you didn't miss

the Oberaar-Panoramastrasse above the Grimselpasshöhe! Built 70 years ago and still going strong. If you did, turn back and go at it. Here is an appetizer. Best viewed at double speed. Cheers Richard

I bought the Golf Country on the cheap specifically to run it on a tour through the westerns Alps. It turned out to be loved by wife, kids and spectators. The best question was "d

Omega: not really that expensive any more...

I feel that prices for these have weakened considerable in the past few years. let's see how this one performs .... not even a minimum bid was put in for this one recently even though it came with an extract. Unfortunately quite a few movements were changed during servicing so that extracts can't be

Omega: 707 or DC 8 - does it matter?

Mine's still parked in the hangar I should really get out to fly sometime soon. Since 707s and DC8s are gone, my choice nowadays would be 747 upper deck. It speaks volumes about the engineering prowess that so many of them are still flying around 5 decades after introduction! Cheers from Old Europe
