707 or DC 8 - does it matter?
Mine's still parked in the hangar
I should really get out to fly sometime soon. Since 707s and DC8s are gone, my choice nowadays would be 747 upper deck.
It speaks volumes about the engineering prowess that so many of them are still flying around 5 decades after introduction!

DC-8, 707, and VC-10 - flew 'em all! . . .
. . . and somewhere in storage is my BOAC log-book with many of those flights recorded by the pilot. ✈️

Don´t you feel it is a 707 and not a DC8? Just a bit of trivia of course.
A 707 is what I thought initially for years until . . .
. . . being informed it's supposed to be a DC-8. I recall flying Swiss Air at least a few times in the late '60s . . . wish I could remember what was in their fleet. That would be the likely inspiration for the engraving. Art
Agree dear Art: all literature I read in books or internet sources mention the DC8. But still... The only commercial airplane in that era with an horizontal antenna on its tail fin top was the 707.
Probably the DC8 was the intention but then a mistake from the Omega artist making the original drawings for the watch was overlooked. That´s just my theory of course. Cheers! Abel
My first flight was in January 1966…

My first was in about late April 1979…
But as I was less than 3 months old the memories are hazy at best 😂 It was in a DC-9, though, that much I know 👍🏻
