And was wondering when we'd see more ochs und junior 'inspired' buckles - no keeper required (surprised it's not mentioned much or at all it seems). I'm off to look around the Ming website an ochs buckle

Was your original strap one of the early sturgeon straps? Mine was - and it was certainly a beefy boot grade of leather... took a while to mould in shape like good leather shoes, but lasted well and still doesn't stink ;-) Would be worth getting the more current strugeon to compliment that lovely di
