A. Lange & Söhne: Editing

Thanks very much for editing and for your response. I must admit I do not know why the paragraphs disappeared as I had entered the text in paragraph form - but now it is so much easier to read.

A. Lange & Söhne: Great Post

Thanks for the response. Yeah, the Dato has terrific heft and wonderful to handle. I had a chance to hold the Zeitwerk today when i picked up the Dato. Boy, talk about heft. What a gorgeous watch and so much better in reality than any of the photographs I've seen. Fortunately, too big for my wrist o

Patek Philippe: Love this post

Thank you very much for your kind comments. You are right, the power reserve on the Dato is pretty low and is likely one of the reasons I tend to forget to wind it. I think it should be wound every 36 hours or else on is likely to find it has stopped. I am seriously looking at the new Rolex submarin

Patek Philippe: Musings on two nice timepieces

Just posted this on the Lange forum as well. Some months ago I asked forum members to help me with a problem I was having with my Datograph. I just got it back from Alkis after a complete overhaul (not inexpensive) and it looks like new now. Time will tell if it runs like new as well but I have no d

A. Lange & Söhne: Dato

Thanks for the message. I was wondering as well why it does not lose time on my wrist during the day but only at night. I figured the power reserve was not adequate for some weird reason. Unfortunately this implies a bigger problem than the watch being magnetized. I am going to wind it tonight and s

A. Lange & Söhne: Datograph

Thanks very much for that. I did not think of the watch being magnetized since I have no problems when I wear it during the day. However, I think you're right - its time for service as I have never sent it in yet.

A. Lange & Söhne: Need help with Datograph

I need some help from members regarding my Pt Datograph. The watch is about 4 years old and I am currently traveling with it. It works perfectly during the day when I have it on but at night when I take it off, it loses time and in the morning is about 10 minutes slow. I have to set the time and ful

Patek Philippe: Who amongst you would buy a Patek

If you did not know it was a Patek? If you saw the watch without knowing it was a Patek, would it still appeal to you? For me, unfortunately the answer is that a large part of the reason I bought my Patek was because of the name, presumably because it connoted quality and collectability. In other wo

Patek Philippe: Platinum and diamond

Thanks all for the posts. I think it might just be for would be buyers to confirm they are buying a platinum watch and not a white gold one. I agree with Eric that it is ridiculous because if this was truly the reason, they should have done it for all platinum cases or none. As I understand it (and
