Analog calendars can be melancholic...
... as they also show the time went by.
I am not sure wether I will like this fact or not but at least it is a new, a different mood that a watch can create.
Therefore I am more drawn towards a digital display like the PP 5396 in WG or RG.
The new 2010 version is just perfect!
Lange's new anual calender looks very clean, likeable and very readable.
No doubt about that: a very nice contribution from Lange to the horological world.

I think the execution is perfect for an annual calendar,
especially this white gold model, but I think when weighing the choices from Lange, I would jump to their Perpetual. Their RG and PT Langematik perpetuals are my favorite form any brand IMHO. Thank you for the fantastic photos. Best,
Design is great but doesn't sing to me...
I have the say the design is great and shows the beautiful craftsmanship just like every other Lange. I don't agree it's a dumbed-down Perpetual, in fact I think it's a much cleaner version. However, there's something in it that doesn't really speak to me...

This piece, unfortunately does not do anything for me. I would much prefer to have a section or window for each month, rather then just a line. The piece that is currently singing to me in the AC complication is the new Patek 5205

In fact, I think it would have been really interesting to make the DayMatic an annual calendar. Just need to incorporate the month in a unique way and add a moonphase...could be a really cool twist from Lange and a great extension of the Lange One!
Certainly a beautiful piece, but...
I think having it on my wrist would make me long for its big brother, the Langematik Perpetual, instead. Love those blued hands though!

I find the dial very clean given a lot is going on. I am looking forward to seeing one in person. I just hope they start showing up. This in WG or the Patek 5205 may very well be my next dress watch.
