But I do. It gives me a really vintage vibe from the 30ties.
As I’m looking for an original Wellendorf now close to 10 years (and still didn’t find the correct one), I went with the one of Shinola in steel. I must say that I LOVE the result. Thx for CR and others that posted this solution in other threads.

This looks great. I've been searching for an 18mm WG or platinum Wellendorff for a few years with no luck. I visited Shinola's website and the 18mm bracelet is on sale from $200 to $80 so I grabbed one. Thanks for the inspo.

Yessir! But is that relevant to your concern?
Below you can see the little sleeve/insert. That'll prevent the lug hole from enlarging. But if I understood correctly, your concern wasn't about the lug holes enlarging. It was more about abrasions to the inside of the lugs caused by the side of the endl...
