I tried on the Lange TZ today. Wow!

There's no doubt, this watch is in my future. Absolutely incredible piece. But I must say that while I expected to prefer the yellow gold to the platinum, I found that I favored the platinum once it was on my wrist. When back in the display case, the gold was as beautiful as ever, but it just didn't work on my wrist. Keeping in mind that this is a rather significant purchase, I would suggest that you and your father go for an outing, and let him choose the one that he likes best. Or, if you are planning to purchase from a particular store, perhaps they can show him a few "just for fun", and you can return to buy the one that elicits the biggest smile. They're all spectacular, for certain, but only he can say what resonates with him.

Just my two cents, for what it's worth. And by the way, you're quite a son!
