It’s the lug to to lug length
1815 up/down, 39.5mm in diameter, is 46mm lug to lug. My 1815 AC, 40mm in diameter, is 47mm lug to lug. The 1815 chrono lug to lug length is 48.2mm which is an issue for me. And yes, you are right, the Datograph is 48.2mm also and the basic Zeitwark model is 50mm, again big for my wrist.

To me the
1815 Chrono comes close to being a perfect watch and I have a small wrist. The UP and Down seems out of balance to me.
