My two cents
While I don’t have both watches and ultimately the answer is what always comes up which is it is entirely a personal preference but here is my two cents. I do see the differences between the 1815 AC and the 1815 up/down (especially the fact that the up/down has the signature Lange sub-dials off-centered (below the middle of the dial) as opposed to the AC). However, the two do look similar in so many ways. The deciding point for me, however, is that you also have the Lange 1 which, together with the AC, covers so much of what I think you may be after with the up/down. I wonder how often you will reach for the up/down as opposed to the Lange 1 or AC. You certainly can’t go wrong with the up/down in your collection (it is beautiful), but I could see you holding off for something that is a bigger contrast to what you currently have in your collection. Keep us posted with your decision!

Have you considered?

the Lange Saxonia Annual Calendar? It wears smaller than the 1815 AC with a lug to lug distance of 47.4 mm. It also has a nice outsize date (Lange DNA!) - it makes sense to want to have a legible date on an AC. Also, in my opinion the layout is more balan...
