The smallest high end Lange
is actually the 1815 chrono and at 39.5mm if you find that it does not fit your wrist well, it is unlikely any other high end Lange would fit your wrist well as they are all much larger. The 1815 up and down is a great watch with a gorgeous dial and accuracy beyond reproach. I say this from my experience of owning this watch and 5 other new Lange watches (including the 1815 chrono!) But may I suggest that you visit your AD and wind the watch from start to finish. My mistake when buying the up and down was not having done this and I later discovered that it takes more than 150 turns of the crown to fully wind the watch. I sold the watch after a month.

My two cents

While I don’t have both watches and ultimately the answer is what always comes up which is it is entirely a personal preference but here is my two cents. I do see the differences between the 1815 AC and the 1815 up/down (especially the fact that the up/do...
Have you considered?

the Lange Saxonia Annual Calendar? It wears smaller than the 1815 AC with a lug to lug distance of 47.4 mm. It also has a nice outsize date (Lange DNA!) - it makes sense to want to have a legible date on an AC. Also, in my opinion the layout is more balan...
