my logic is too simplistic......

 

I thought platinum being harder than gold so it can resist scratches better....and of course it will be harder to be polished too.
Same for Stainless steel, it being harder than gold also resist scratches better.
When we do a special coating on Stainless Steel, we increase it's vicker rating and thus increase its scratch resistant.
So that's why I have always thought that Platinum is very resistant to scratches , especially when compared to other standard cases like, YG, RG and WG.
But then I'm no expert in this area, so all I know about platinum and gold are just from my careful wearing experience .
