Part 7: Zeitwerk Striking Time (PG)

 

Like the Lange 1 Tourbillon PC, the Zeitwerk Striking Time is now available in Pink Gold. The Zeikwerk Striking Time has been the first contemporary Lange watch with a striking mechanism. It was considered, when unveiled in 2011, as a first step in the world of striking watches to prepare more ambitious projects which would come later. Actually, the watch only strikes a note every quarter (au passage) but this musical touch is a nice evolution of the Zeitwerk... despite the size increase. Another positive point is the ability to see the hammers at play located dial side.

The watch is big (44,2mm) but at least the material makes it lighter than the Platinum version. But I still prefer the WG version which is, for my taste, the most eye-catching of the line.

Pros:

+ the new material leads to a slightly different sound quality compared with the Platinum version
+ the beauty of the movement and the purety of the dial
+ the hammers play au pssage

Cons:

- one note per quarter
- with a 44,2mm diameter, the watch starts to be quite big
