As the Datograph is not in my collection, onr in the Lange collection anymore, I thought that these 2 pictures of a watch which made me dream, before making me happy for several years, would pay a nice homage to tjhis great watch, revisited now, as announ...

Great pictures, Nico ! You're right, this watch has something special for it, hard to define... I especially appreciate its movement ; it seems as you could dive in it ! I've got the same feeling with the movement of the 1815 chronograph. Amicalement, Did... 

Your pictures make the most of the fascinating contrasts of these SUPERB case and dial. Not to mention the light and color contrasts in the movement (indeed one of the nicest and finest in the industry, and certainly THE best of the handwound chronographs... 

Same for the 1815 moonphase in platinum, by the way. But yes, a page has been turned, and with it, an icon. Enjoy yours, as you're lucky enough to still own it. Best, Nicolas.

But i believe you can still manage to replace it if you want to.

As it was stolen... So, psychologically speaking, it is a real dilemma. And I also have to replace my Anniversary. Best, Nicolas.

The irony of the story? I stay with the 5070... But I will give it at least one brother. Duo is Pole position. Best, Nicolas.

I admire the 5070, of course, but for one reason or another (in truth, it's price is partly the reason) I have never seriously considered it. Paying private tuition x2 now, it will be a long time before I can seriously consider the Duo or Les Historiques.... 

The Duometre is one of my absolute priority, and THE priority if we consider the Chronos, only. My favourite, among the modern manual winding Chronos, by far. Best, and thanks for your kind words, once again, my friend. Nicolas

I have held a Duométre too and, while it is very interesting conceptually, the Datograph is far superior in terms of finishing, robustness, strap, weight, and overall impression of quality. In general, JLC is not quite at the level of Lange in all these a... 

In truth, I cannot compare the two. I suppose I made a "choice" when I went for the Dato first , but that was as much about the opportunity that presented itself when it presented itself. Suffice it to say that IMHO, trying to compare these two and pick a...

The Duometre is the only Chronograph where Time and Chronograph are equally important. So, time and chronogrpah informations are equally important. You don't have the 2 big second hands moving all the time, as you have to use the chorongraph function for ... 

I haven't complained, and you have not responded Do you think that it is nice to watch two big seconds rotate together when the chrono is running? As for the Dato lacking a 0 on the first digit, i believe this is a design choice, in order to avoid confusi... 

Or maybe you have to be " dyslexique ". No, I don't find the two second hand ugly when they run. But to each his own. Best, Nicolas.

My opinion -- I agree with you both! I would find a "0" superfluous on the Dato, but that may be a cultural difference. Americans don't often refer to the date as "01", "02" etc. As for the two rotating hands, I don't find it displeasing. Again my opinion... 

We're on the same wave, here. I find the cons of the Dato to be its strenght, and the Duometre as a very nice, interesting and important watch. I wouldn't say that one is superior to the other. They are not playing on the same ground, in my opinion, for t...

I doubt the Dato II will replace the Dato I in my heart... The Dato I was an icon. The Dato II seems to not be my cup of tea, which is a pity, because a slightly thinner bezel, a case with the same thickness bu one or two millieters bigger, and NO Power R...

Yes, this is a Dupond. but I also have a Dunhill. I'm not that french! As for the watch, I will take my time, but I will certainly build my Chrono collection, once again. And I didn't loose all, as I still have the box and the papers. Best, Nicolas.
