While I was thinking long and hard about the merits and demerits of Zeitwerk vs Langematik PC, an opportunity came up and I ended up acquiring this masterpiece; could not be happier. Zeitwerk will have to wait for now....

I have heard a few times. Why is it called Datagraph Up and Down ? The part of the name "Up and Down" puzzles me. Anyone can explain ?

Power at up (fully wound) or down (needs winding) Same for 1815 up down for eg. Cheers Robin

Robin for the concise explanation. I had a misconception, thinking that winding the crown both ways (up and down) increases the power left in the coil.

I appreciate all the gracious comments. Couple of observation after a few days of wearing; 1. Despite of the larger size at 41 mm it sits very well on my small wrist and is very comfortable and a balanced wearing experience 2. One of the smoothest winding...

i strongly prefer the deployment. in this case ESPECIALLY given the weight of the watch in platinum

Find Lange Deployants quite uncomfortable and much prefer comfort of the tang. I also have no issue with weight of platinum with tang so I guess to each his own. I will say that one way I increased comfort with Lange Deployants was to flip sides and it di... 

was less so the weight on the wrist as handling the watch while putting the watch on with the tang. if your wrists are small, i'd suggest getting a smaller strap, otherwise the end of the deployment can ride up the side of the wrist.

Lange deployments are uncomfortable. I also flip straps on AP's as they too are not comfortable. Again tang is perfect and no issue with weight of watch. To each his own so for me glad they come with tang and not deployment!
