Do the watchmakers specialize in one particular movement for a period of time, then change to another just to keep fresh?

We were told that for regular production complicated pieces like the Dato, the DS etc, watchmakers will indeed be cycled around to keep things interesting (for lack of a better term); However certain complications which require a high degree of complexity...

What a once in a lifetime experience! You may call me an apostate, but for me the watch I most like from your report is the Saxonia Automatic Outsize Date at the beginning of your report. I know, I am crazy given the amazing watches you have shown... but ...
