Audemars Piguet

Much appreciated

Thank you! The Royal Oak is certainly a grail watch for me as well and a big step going forward with the boutique.

The main reason for wanting grey is twofolded:
For one, I am bit of a minimalist and found the grey dial very charming. It has the qualities of both the white and black dial, and can even appear brown at certain points too! And the grey disappears a bit with the case so it becomes very monochromatic; a look I do very much love!
Another is that the former boutique manager told me it would be easier to get allocated and that AP has this colour rule that entails that it would be easier to get a green or blue dial for my next piece.

My next RO is hopefully the Jumbo, which will definitely be blue.
I had the chance of comparing both black and grey, and it is completely up to one’s taste. The black dial is tremendous and not “flat”. It plays with the light as well, though not as much as grey, white and the colours.

Everybody wants blue and I completely get that. I do find the green more attractive but blue is blue! I do want one too however I am in no rush as I want to build a collection with different colours and materials.
I do believe the blue dialed RO’s gets the highest traction in the grey market as well?
I am sure you will be able to get your hands on one if you become and remain a solid client of the brand!

I do agree with you about the differences between the 15500 and 15510.
Both has something the other reference lacks in a way. The new dial is indeed more understated but after all it is a Royal Oak so it will never be too understated either.

Much appreciated mate and I will keep this forum informed every time I purchase a new AP - you can be certain of that! Thanks again!
