One important aspect though is the viewpoint of the great majority of AP collectors + fans who have strongly expressed their sentiment against this particular offering. While there may be a host of technical accomplishments incorporated in this model, nevertheless it seems to have not resonated with most given their perceived lack of aesthetics in the model.
That said, perhaps if AP chooses to come up with another 100 piece edition without the cartoon character, and instead have an iconic 3D carving or a masonic pattern etc., it would be an instant hit IMHO.
Even from your own viewpoint, while you like the watch, you have stated that you would not put your personal money into this BlackPanther aka Concept piece. And that says it all..

There's a type of instinct in watch collectors/fans that have developed a taste over time, If you have to "digest" it and "make" yourself like it that requires more than a week or so, probably something's not right

Many auctions are won by Chinese buyers ;) There's a certain level of irrationality in the market
when it comes to luxury/art and more outliers due to population, but the feedback in general from the Chinese watch circle (me being a part of it) is a lot of head scratching.
