Hi Ben, i just googled LP-400 pictures .... .
No matter how i like this 'modern' Countach with the add-ons etc ... the original LP400 shape is indeed an incredible masterpiece ... BUT ... the newer version actually could be seen a a 'new' Countach, a different one. Because of those exuberant extra details it gave the car more ... ehhh .. to look at, to discover more ... it makes the car overly aggressive and i guess the car was meant to make people dazzle ... make their emotions flood out ... .
Your fresh view will make me think twice the day i have to break the bank to buy my Countach, the LP400 is not only super clean and THE original, but it is a really really beautiful car ... The 5000 (with the wing please, front and rear 
has it's own distinct character and 'they' (who the hell that might be) say that it's technically a better car .... .

Indeed ED ! The Countach was actually so special it blew everybody's mind ... it became an instant icon more than any other car ever produced ... thanks to the outrageous shape !

.. it really couldn't be compared to a diamond i think :-) ... the 'lines' hmm hmmm on this car will never ever again be outclassed by any other car to come ....

needless to say that countach is a cornerstone in car history and a clear design rupture after the miura. From a pure design perspective it is very interesting indeed but not my cup of tea.

That is overly cruel, but once the fibreglass flares, wings and fascias started being added on...the amazing LP400 shape was ruined. Imagine a Miura wth those add-ons...

...an Italian car day and we were looking at a few Countachs. The LP500s and the ones with the >5litre V12 and the even more crazy side skirts, and other bits and pieces. While not very enthusiastic about them, we definitely agreed that they served the...
