I wish they would have offered another Z convertible, loved the 350Z, the 370 not so much. Even played with a rare 6 speed Giulia QV but as much as I love italian cars and bikes, it just left me cold.

I had one for a week and whilst the car had a certain charm the gear change was pretty awful. In my opinion the car just felt as though it needed more development time.

Certainly a great car - BUT
I would not take the +2 aspects (kids) into the equation… they get older soon, and these +2 are children seats! Compromise for nothing. However - please - drive a Alpine A110. Anything. If you not have done so! For me the ultimate driving car!

Mechanics have told me lotuses are just evil cars that are impossible to work on. Tight areas one cannot get their hands into. Substantial percentage of the car needs to be disassembled to do basic things because the car wasn’t well designed to begin with...

Can't say for certain, but probably likely.
Unless you're telling me that Geely is developing everything from a tried and trued Geely platform that is made in large quantities, I'd be worried. But the only way to tell is to speak with someone who is trained to work on current Lotus vehicles.
The sports cars are still on Lotus based platforms…
Which doesn’t have to be a bad thing - Lotus has developed these for much larger manufacturers as well, and quite successfully. But of course a current mechanic will know best 👍🏻
