they were sold in the UK as LHD and RHD and nowadays you can also get them in the US as imported cars
mine has got 3,800 km original (first owner when i bought it seven years ago from a collection) and is only one of 50 that were build in black with light grey interior
this car attracts even in Germany more spectators than any other sports car i have driven/owned due to its doors. i prefer to drive it with roof closed and doors down

There were definitely RHDs as I remember seeing one outside a local pizzeria!
Z8 (my favourite of the Z models) was only made in LHD though and for me sits along side the Z1 as the epitome of BMW cool.
Has anyone here driven both a 370 Z and a Boxter or a Cayman?
I have the 370 (no ego here) can someone comment on the differences as I know the performance numbers are almost dead even.
I drove a 350z a while back, totally different from a boxster/cayman
Best to go drive one because the cars are so different it's kinda apples and oranges. Throw the numbers out the window. Mid-engine vs front engine, German vs Japanese engineering and design ethos, different target customers, etc.

That’s why I asked about the 370 they are completely different cars… The 350 is a sporty car and the 370 is a sports car they aren’t even remotely similar...370’s handling is much better.
I owned and loved the 350z....
Sold it with over 100k km, which i did myself. Great time it was.
Don't believe these made their way to the US, either . . .

That was a sweet spot in time for BMW cars and the Z1 was about as fun and characterful as the Germans ever got.
