I never imagined myself being in this position, but I’m looking to buy a used 911 turbo. Within our local market, there is a 991.1 Turbo S and a 991.2 Turbo being offered for roughly the same price and with roughly the same mileage. I know that the 991.1 ... 

The turbo is already so much more power than anyone can use and is only a tune away from more, I would go with the most optioned 991.2 turbo I could find. Extended leather, carbon illuminated doorsills, leather steering column, the more options the better... 

And any Pcar is a great car. I always go with the turbo s because I like the bump in HP and the ceramic brakes. I’m actually not a real fan of the 992 and prefer the 991. Good luck in your decision. ...  

I agree on extending into S territory, even though the speed camera situation in my city will render the formula 1 track the only place to allow any Pcar to stretch its legs. Is that a 991.2 turbo S in the forefront of the photo? TBH; I love the muscular/... 

Have to have the matchy match with the speedster😉 remember also that little S emblem on the back of your car makes it just a little more special on an already special car. Best, Jorge

My neighbor (similar age, probably significantly-higher income) is after the GT3 line, but we all know that nothing beats the pure acceleration and daily-drivability of a turbo 😁

I was told from my local dealership whom I don't use anymore (for obvious reasons) said that they are charging $100k over MSRP on GT3 models. I can only assume that the GT3RS that will be announced this week will command $150-100K over MSRP. Turbo S which... 

The demand for these cars has far exceeded the supply here in the States, so that has caused stealerships to rape their clients. I was told by the same dealer that every new 911 coming off the assembly line has been spoken for, for the next 2 years.

So I don't pay over MSRP unless it's a limited edition car ala my speedster.

My 991.1 TTS had seen track days, snow days, rainy days and sunny days. Never had an issue for all of it's 55K miles I put on it. Needed only regular recommended services and I drove that car like I stole it. It literally felt bulletproof. You'll be very ...

I hope that you didn’t have to pay much of a premium on your speedster either. Like watches, I refuse to pay a premium for cars or any other luxury item.

But to be VIP you basically have to buy a new Porsche every year or a 918 when those came out, which means you were taking a hit year after year on your trade in. Figured, in the long run I saved money paying the $100k mark up vs taking a yearly hit well ... 

Hoping for many more years of enjoyable ownership. I have a rule against owning two watches for the same brand/manufacturer, and the same applies to cars, so no watch AD or car dealership will ever classify me as VIP. And I’m perfectly fine with that.

I bought the speedster to age into it. I plan to hopefully never get rid of it and enjoy many of drives with my wife as we age.

As for my rule, if the budget and garage space allows…a vintage Aston Martin would be the next luxury car acquisition

I wouldn't kick the 991.1 out of bed but I feel the grille design looks a bit bulbous compared to the 991.2. If deciding on a non turbo model that makes the decision harder since Id rather have the NA engine of the .1

No turbos or superchargers just raw power. Personally, I prefer the NA engine but the TTS is a wonderful daily and can handle it all and is almost as fast as a Veyron. How many daily cars can check all those boxes?

Meaning I like the 991.1 for the NA lineup of engine. Turbo 991.1 vs turbo 991.2 I'd choose the 991.2. sorry for the confusion

Sure, i will always chose with PDK. You can shift with a traditional gearbox with a non PDK 911. Albeit this is something for purists, and i am not. The best is to have an atmospherical 911, but a Turbo S is great to own before a GT3 is ready to roll into...

Albeit the powerful atmospheric 911 models are a kind of it’s own. But my all favorite cars have a turbo or two turbo’s. Here we go: Number 1. Ferrari F40. V8 Turbo charged. Ferrari LaFerrari. Hybride. Honda NSX. V6. Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Boxer 6. ...  

It’s made for ex-F1 drivers, in my opinion

I will never forget a 911 GT3. The people who own one or more are real lucky guys. Imagine how a GT2 will be? One thing is tru, in my opinion you will torture a GT3 when it see only a highway. It needs a fine racetrack, and for the streets your choice is ... 

At least that’s what my daughter thought before I traded it in for the speedster. ...  

Secondly: what a spec! Love that. How many race track miles did you get on it before the trade? How uncomfortable was it (for daily use)? 🤣🤣

It was a super fun car to have. Actually never got the chance to track it because kids came shortly after buying it. So it sat with the occasional long spirited drive through the mountains. Which is why I was like Ehh, might as well get the Speedster for ... 

In the mountains it will be in it’s element. Overtaking trucks can be done very quickly. City use. Did you tried a busy city? Did you got a roll cage in your 992RS? And had it a back seat?
