I like most of what I have read and seen about this one, except
The eTorque system. Has all the signs of becoming a Pandora’s box of problems. I’ve owned two Ram 1500s, each equipped with the 5.7l V8 Hemi. It’s a great engine, with torque and HP to spare. I wish they hadn’t gone down the ‘hybrid’ path that they did. I don’t see the real benefits. Hopefully, it proves to be a great system, but I am skeptical.

That eTorque system is exactly (in theory) the system that my Honda Insight uses
Gas motor "boosted" by electric power reserve from a moderately small and light pack of batteries. Almost like a turbocharger. Good for about 5 straight minutes of boost, then exhausted until later recharged during braking. Adds about 10 mpg in my applica...
