My 1997 Carrera S is in the spa this week for a paint correction and to address some stone chips. Last time I had this done was over 10 years ago and they really do put it cosmetically back into almost factory fresh condition, and it lasts really well. Ne...  

What do you mean by paint correction? Correction from what…weather, sun damage?

The prior time they did this work ten plus years or so held up really well. But the car is garaged and covered except when being driven, and it’s usually not driven in the rain.

Does ceramic coating protect against all these effects?

That one gets me right in the pineal gland.

Is that iris blue?

It’s a color Porsche made specially for the final two years of the air-cooled 911. They haven’t used it since but I suppose one could get it as a paint to sample.

I had a Volvo Ocean Race for 16 years... I'm sure that paint is available, the colors look very similar ...  

Love that blue color too, well chosen! 👍🏻 I only go to the touch free wash or hand wash (never through the traditional car wash) and hope to avoid these paint correction trips in the future!

I’ve found when I use clean micro fiber towels to dry it, the swirls are not as bad as running it through the traditional wash. But yes indeed, some level of paint imperfection I’m afraid, with any method , is unavoidable !!

Will you have the car protected with PPF ?

Having protective film on the front of the car a worthwhile investment.
