Flying Tourbillon
The flying tourbillon designed by Vincent Calabrese and manufactured by Frédéric Piuguet for Blancpain has always seemed to me one of the most beautiful because the escapement is made so visible and because I like the shape of the flying cage.
This is the Blancpain Tourbillon 8 Jours (8 Days) ref. 0023-3427.55 in platinum.
The case measures only 34 mm.
The watch is powered by manual-winding caliber 23, which features 8 days of power reserve and was introduced in 1989.
I find this tourbillon gorgeous and I have read that it was the first flying tourbillon in a wristwatch.
The watch was also made in yellow gold.

I have tried on several months ago the more recent, 37.5 mm platinum version of this watch (ref. 6025 1542 55B), but I don't really like the new design of the power reserve scale.
Also, I don't like the automatic caliber 25 as much as I do the manual-winding caliber 23. And the see-through case back feels far less attractive to me.
