I understand  your anxiety.  I, too, am a perfectionist in that way.

What I would do if I were you was to send it in for service, putting in writing that the dial was clean, etc. and had this signed by both AD and I  This would mean that if something went wrong, the service centre were obliged to rectify it at their expenses.

Personally, I would not mind the time spent, even if it took months.  I did this to one watch.  I sent it in for a service and the chrono did not come back quite right.  So it went back to be adjusted.  This time the repairman scratched the dial.  I insisted that they resolved it, so in the end they changed the dial for free.  It took something like half a year or so in total, but I have been happy with the watch since.  My AD was very understanding.
