I really think the breguet tradition is BY FAR the most amazing watch you can get for 30-40 k
And when looking at secondhand value…. It’s just insane more collectors don’t see this.
I know on this forum there are quite a few but in general it’s imo the best kept secret out there
To give you an example…. Yesterday evening I was invited at a Panerai boutique that opened recently.
Probably a 38mm yellow gold tradition should be the watch that gets almost no attention in a Panerai crowd.
I was really amazed and amused that I was wrong. Never before was I asked that often by different people “ohh, can I please take a closer look at your watch”
And the compliments just did not stop. From well informed persons but also people that didn’t know that watch or others that thought it was a tourbillon. So no matter their knowledge they had 1 thing in common and they really really loved that piece.
Honestly…. Went to so many meetings and GTG… never been asked before that often if they could see and try my watch.

Wonderful! Black dial with anthracite movement works very well.
And and nice to meet a kindred spirit with a shared dislike of the screw bars

It makes zero sense to me why these are so affordable still 2nd hand. Obviously much higher quality than anything else in the same range, steeped in history + a beautiful design.

I was honestly a little shocked when I started shopping around for one seriously. Always wanted one but hadn't looked into the market for a while.
The parachute shock absorber does not do anything here: it is more for esthetic purposes made.
Underneath it is a modern shock absorber, I read sonewhere. Thank you for this outstandibg shots. The polished steel teeth are very impressive and you caught this detail very well. 👍

I haven't had the chance to inspect a recent model myself closely
but pictures suggest nothing to worry about with the Tradition line up at least. These pictures dont go in as close as I did but show signs of the same finishes. monochrome-watches.com
