A great piece, underrated
Its GPHG win was well deserved, and this must be considered one of the best debuts from any brand over the last year. As you say, it cannot be appreciated in full unless one tries the watch firsthand. It looks, feels, and IS special. This is pure opinion, but I believe that the Octo Finissimo Auto marks Bulgari's coming-of-age as a legit integrated watch manufacture rather than its former appearance as a shotgun assembly of impressive industrial acquisitions.

The “5th” index and the blued hands are really cool (nice contrast with the grey dial and case colour). But the 40x40mm case size looks a little bit too big for me
I would have preferred to see the same case shape but without those tiny lugs and a better integrated bracelet. The watch would have appeared “lighter” for me and more in harmony with the thinness of this timepiece. Best wishes Alkiro

..that "5th", come on, that's a cop out from a design perspective. Lazy and unimaginative.
I didn’t mind that part too much.
The blue accents were great, but the Fifth Avenue and stamping on the back were so-so for me.
Looks very special and different from most watches out there, bold and sporty too...
I’m not going to wear nice watches like this for swimming so 30m is fine, got other WR watches for that purpose. Rgds Raymond
