"The watch should first and foremost be
pleasant to the eye".
With all respect, I do not agree.
I am often comparing cars and watches. I do not buy a car based on how beautiful it is. First I want to get a car which is really good to drive. Then I want to get an engine which is powerful and has something special about it: rather a flat six than V6, rather a straight six than turbo-charged four, etc. After those I want to get overall quality of workmanship and good service. Then I want my car to hold it's value well in its class. I want that my car is safe and there are a lot of different attributes. Among those is that I want that my car looks good but this attribute is far from being first and foremost.
I am never buying a watch with an ETA movement if I can avoid it. I happen to have LLD and Sinn U1 but those watches are not a part of my watch collection but a part of my diving gear. They are in the same box with the dive computer, regulator, etc.
Kind regards, Kari
