Cartier

My take

I did not ask the specific question of why the ID One will not be commercialised, even on a small scale, but can think of two reasons. The first is practical, because the ID One cannot be made in series. I think, however, that the more likely explanation is that Cartier is very, very careful about its products, positioning and the message a product sends, so it's likely that the ID One was judged to be inappropriate from those aspects. The ID One is meant to be a showpiece to demonstrate the manufacture's competence and making it a piece unique concept watch probably adds extra emphasis. That is just my personal opinion but I will get an official response from Cartier.
