I think it is safe to say that Cartier has left the folding buckle, that for years was supplied with almost any watch.
The buckle was always a bit difficult for the salespeople, especially when a new strap was needed.
Often the buckle ended up not in the middle etc.
But......Cartier has a new folding buckle that is available as an option and the good thing is, that it can be added
to the existing strap, so no new strap is needed.
I am a hardcore folding buckle fan, but I think this is a great solution because not everyone is in favor of a folding buckle.

The tech was developed by some members of the Richemont group
and some of the other brands like JLC and B&M may follow later with their models. There might be exclusivity for Cartier during the first period.
Lovely watch but some of the changes seem to be cost cutting
They have made the watch smaller and replaced the clasp (it is/ was a very nice clasp) with a pin buckle.

Congratulations, I heard that it was sold out pretty soon. Now we have to wait for the launch, which seems to be in early November. Cartier adjusted the release date. GEO
