But it suffers from the non-color matched date wheel like most in the series unfortunately 🤷🏻‍♂️ It would also be a lot nicer if the movement from the Purist 1963 was used, as was done once previously in a MM piece, albeit that would place it much higher ... 

The movement, as you say, reduces the horological appeal, but improves the price appeal...

Has drastically outstripped the overall rate of inflation, too 😉

Extensive modification to at least the case would be required to be worthy of the Zagato name. Now the pen on the other hand is an interesting subject, is this supposed to make one feel manlier when in its possession, asking for a friend who drives an M c... 

I like the nib, but not so much the body, which I find too thick. I never wear cufflinks, but I like those... Best, Emmanuel

But as an object the Carene is probably my favorite design, it reminds me of the great era of speed such as streamlined cars from the 30s like delahaye and bugatti, cruiseliners of the first half of the 20th century or of the concorde plane.

Black and gold were my colors going thru high school and uni, if I had to buy a Carene today I may go for the Essence du bleu model.
