I had the nail in my hand
There I was...nail in hand.
I could scratch the ordinary 316L steel plate.
The hardened steel was scratch resistant.
Next, the actual watch. Would they let me try to scratch it?
In theory, the nail could not harm it having failed on the sample plate but in reality, I was loathed to even try as the watch costs nearly a quarter Million dollars 
I chickened out......call me Foghorn Leghorn!

If I’m a little bit mixed about the dial design with this large “desert zone” (less is more but until which point?), all the other elements of this watch are pure joy. The movement is a feast for the eyes with an incredible finishing level and this harden...

Chronometrie Ferdinand Berthoud is working on a couple of projects that they will not announce until "perfect". They really are "seeking perfection in an imperfect world", with eyes wide open that perfection is always one step beyond..... Regards, MTF

Definitely one to put on the grail list. May not be the conventional choice but that's partially the reason to like it. For me the hiding of the tourbillon is what I particularly appreciate - enjoy the stealth of it Thanks for the great summary!
