R.Schroots, sorry to hear about your situation....

 

Chopard has always been very particular with their after-sales services.

From your chronology, I wondered what has the AD done?

You insisted not paying on 1 Sept 2008, then what happened? 
Then the watch is repaired on 24 Nov.  In between you and Chopard is the AD.
It is strange the AD did not warn you and notify Chopard not to proceed till you agreed to the expenses.

It is difficult for me to comment as how thin it slices, there are both sides of the stories.
