Team, we have just been discussing in the Patek forum a 2 watch only collection. I'd like to open the discussion with this question:
If you could only have 2 modern watches at any cost, what would they be?
This is not supposed to reflec your actual financial means.
We will start with modern, from any brand. This is something that I think our feelings about would change quite a lot, so we can probably bring this up with some regularity on the forum. Also, variations on the theme will be good too, I have some in mind. I think this is a useful discussion because it will help us to assess the value of the pieces we have in our collections, while guiding future purchases, sales and trades.

I'll start with mine
I think I'd go for a 15202 because I love that watch, and then a Do a Sub 300. Searambler. Both independent, cool combination. Also very interesting

Two watches as my only collection....

Okay, serious answer for me is that there are two brands I love: Breguet and F.P.Journe, so one of each.
A pt Boutique Nacre Lune for FPJ and a Breguet Marine chronograph in wg on a bracelet. Done.

That's actually a very good combination.

Did also think second watch could be something as simple & robust as a Seiko five & just wear the other on high days & holidays. Cheers JML Ps if you asked me next week it could well be a memovox

I though very hard between 5131P and 5650G.....

if two vintage it becomes easier...if two modern its ok too...but if its just two including vintage and modern...agggghhhhhh
For me, the two vintage would be 3448 and 1665 Mk2........the two modern would be 5370p and 5650g...... But if i had to pick only two from all....agghhhhh.....yes, torture.......but it would be: 3448 and....agghhhh.....5650g.

My picks are Nautilus (5711/5712/5980 although the one I have is 5711) and Hublot (can be any model)
My Hublot is a special one (Red Devil KP) so I think I'll hang on to that one for a long time. I have 2 other Hublots but one will go to my son. I think Rolex is also a 'must' but I prefer vintage Rolex to modern ones. Casio G-shocks are also good picks b...
If vintages are allowed, it's be any vintage Subs/GMTs or Explorers/Daytonas but I got a 1655 straight hand so there you go.

Both of the chose watches would be outside my top three if the question would be "choose 5..." However, there are complication which I would like to have if only two watches were the limit. Among those are: - Perpetual calendar - Chronograph or split-seco...
5372P-010 is sublime...
Makes for three of us so far going down the road of a 5650G... and two of this would go 5370P and you 5372P. Very similar tastes I must say... choice between 5370 and 5372 is a tough one but the black enamel Breguet dial wins over the perpetual for me but...

Just love the extraordinary complication and the engineering behind these two pieces - with the Patek a "dressy all around piece" and the RM for fun. One can dream eh? Peter
I'd go with....Breguet 5347 double torbillon in platinum and keep my old gold over ss speedy.
