Team, we have just been discussing in the Patek forum a 2 watch only collection. I'd like to open the discussion with this question: If you could only have 2 modern watches at any cost, what would they be? This is not supposed to reflec your actual financ...  

I think I'd go for a 15202 because I love that watch, and then a Do a Sub 300. Searambler. Both independent, cool combination. Also very interesting

5650g and 5370p. Covers most bases for me and two totally fascinating watches.

Within reason that is. Both very wearable and complement each other well. Obviously if there are absolutely no constraints whatsoever it would be possible to dream up unobtainiums, but assuming the exercise is to name two modern pieces that are somehow re... 

.....the latter wins for me as it does have that dual time capacity AND it has the stunning advanced research angle too....also, its a watch that can be worn in the pool. Yep....within reasonable parameters, those two would do it for me. A truly hard prob... 

or a modern five watch collection with requirement each is in a different case material....

I'm going to do some more themes later. More USEFUL criteria. The goal will be to conduct mental exercises that help us to collect and enjoy watches better!

For me, the two vintage would be 3448 and 1665 Mk2........the two modern would be 5370p and 5650g...... But if i had to pick only two from all....agghhhhh.....yes, torture.......but it would be: 3448 and....agghhhh.....5650g.

...and I was waiting for another to come asking the same question for 2 vintage watches only ! 2 modern + 2 vintage was hard enough, I don't think I could narrow it to 1 + 1 as mentioned in another thread... If 2 vintage only my choice would be PP 3448 + ...

My Hublot is a special one (Red Devil KP) so I think I'll hang on to that one for a long time. I have 2 other Hublots but one will go to my son. I think Rolex is also a 'must' but I prefer vintage Rolex to modern ones. Casio G-shocks are also good picks b...

Both of the chose watches would be outside my top three if the question would be "choose 5..." However, there are complication which I would like to have if only two watches were the limit. Among those are: - Perpetual calendar - Chronograph or split-seco... 

Makes for three of us so far going down the road of a 5650G... and two of this would go 5370P and you 5372P. Very similar tastes I must say... choice between 5370 and 5372 is a tough one but the black enamel Breguet dial wins over the perpetual for me but... 

If I HAD to chose. The Patel choices have been very strong here. Great taste from the Purists

For instance, I didn't appreciate Picasso until I studied and understood cubism. I just was ignorant (=not educated). Now I see it's a great idea to have Pia's front and back in the same painting! So I consider myself a WI (=WIS minus the S). The process ...
