Patek Philippe

5726 .... pure joy..

For those that remember my post just before Basel 2010, you could be forgiven for thinking I had insider knowledge of this model smile But honestly, this was a design of my mind, how often can you make a photoshop...then see it in reality, I'm not sure how many times this happens..... but it did and for me was a truely an amazing experience!

So naturally the next step... to get one and as many here know that happened a few weeks back.

So here it is:

the dial display is of the classic perpetuals of yesteryear... perfect balance, harmony ....pleaseing and easy on the eye.

The dial is the classic grey black ribbing with the larger indices and hands introduced in the 5711 for the 30th.anniversary.

The strap is a perfect accompany to the sporty case, a kind of contradiction in a way, but a nice one. Besides you can always put on the rubber strap.

The deployant is exceptionally sturdy, I actually prefer pin for comfort, but this one is actually not bad. The only thing I don't like is the fact that you screw the strap into place, which means quick adjustments cant be made. On the other hand it is much safer.

The strap is the usual PP quality.

The strap attachments to the case are perfectly postioned for the wrist and gives great comfort. Patek have executed this part to perfection.

Even with the added complications, the Nautilus retains its WR to 120m!

The correctors are located perefctly and syymetrically in the case,

The case has the classic "Ears" linking the two parts of the case, sealed by a gasket..just as in the original classic 3700

The movement, is displayed though the sapphire crystal case back, with the PP seal now...

The crown is a screw down, but is not as robust as say a Rolex, but hey its a luxury sports watch...

and finally...

yep...the joy shot...

I think was a bold decision from Patek to make a complicated watch in steel...and I'm sure glad they did.

I am a fortunate man, that I can afford a collection, but if there was a choice of just one watch..it would be this.

Perfect for anywhere and any occasion.

Hope you enjoyed this 5726 tour.

Take care all of you!

Best
