60th anniversary Speedmaster exhibition tour

Earlier today I had the privilege of attending an event locally to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Speedmaster. Amazing selection of 60 speedmasters from different points in time flown up from the museum and museum director Mr. Petros Protopapas was in high form sharing his intimate and thorough knowledge of the history of the brand. Needless to say it was tremendously enjoyable and ever so informative. I learned heaps of interesting things particularly around the early days of the NASA relationship which came to shape much of the brand going forward.

A true pleasure to attend and of course the drinks and foods served did not disappoint anyone present. A great way for a brand to reach out and give to collectors and enthusiasts in my opinion.

Among all the wonderful Speedmasters one piece that stood far above the rest in my view was the one I attached below. To me the most aesthetically and historically most intriguing Speedmaster produced. Now getting one is near impossible but happy to have seen one in the real nevertheless.
