Because of you Kari and generally all 5960 owners, I decided to try this piece on...
So I did so this morning in Geneva... And OMG, this watch is really cool 
And it's certainly a collector.

This is really cool Patek! I love the material choice (steel!), the contrast in colors and the complications!
It is stunning
I tried it on in London last week and I loved it, bold, very unique and sporty, definite collector. Very comfortable and superb legibility. Go get it !
on the limit for me.....strictly just over.
I hated it when it fitrst came out...... but as time has passed, it has grown on me. Steel chrono from Patek......you just don't see many of those...so in that sense, it has an important place. The watch itself is colourful, but actually...as Kari and JC ...

They are always on display at many ADs when I traveled to Germany in June...
even in Dubai last Nov, somehow this model doesn't speak to many die-hard PP fans, which I think was due to the bracelet, too blingy. Anyhow, steel Patek is always interesting, plus I like the white dial, black borders and red hands. Let you in for a news...

The Paris salon had it on display since forever. Maybe they try to create artificial waiting time?
Don't know the details, but PP can be lowering their volume due to consumer weakness.
It used to be when a PP model is discontinued, it becomes hot and sort after, but look at this white dial 5170G. It is discontinued 2016 but it's everywhere, negotiable. For this 5960/1A, shouldn't be technical since it's similar to earlier 5960P but sorr...

At first glance I thought it was a Neptune variant.

And I\'m pretty sure too it will soon be discontinued. As the 5905p came to replace the 5960, and because they already discontinued the 5960s on platinum, and because it is not a great commercial success... For all these reasons, 5960/1a owners in 10 year...
I liked the watch when I bought it, nothing more.
Now I love it - 5960A is the greatest daily beater I can imagine. But if they decide to make the Anniversary Nautilus, blue dial, 120 m WR... then I do not know. Best Kari

One thing is sure: there are many ideas to get from these strap makers
certainly great combinations to discover for a watch, and for this 5960A in particular. The only difficult thing will be to get a configuration where the strap end will come close to the case (between the lug) and hide the gouge a little.
The more I see the steel strap the more I like it
I really reconsidered the rubber strap option and think I will keep the steel for it\'s uniqueness , genuineness and fun

I myself was heavily influenced by the good Dr Kari that I couldn\'t resist one myself. And a strap definitely changes the look and feel of the watch.
