Horological Meandering

A duo of famous chronographs

When two moderators meet each other...

wink

It's very interesting to compare both watches.

One is very classic with traditionnal features: bi-compax, low frequency, a small power reserve, a very classic layout for the caliber (inspired by the famous calibers from Longines), the perfect jumping hand of the minute counter, the smoothness of the pushers...

The other one brings a lot of innovation. It seems to be a watch entirely dedicated to the chronograph function: the time can be read in the upper left subdial, the chronograph information are displayed with original systems (I.e the minute counter window), the two power reserves, and of course, the foudroyante. The foudroyante animates the dial a lot... like the two big second hands which move in perfect harmony. The dial of the 1815 chronograph seems to be very quiet on the contrary... If you look at the back of the watch, you will notice that there is no visually similar caliber on the market. The two barrels can't be missed.

Last point is the size difference. The diameter of the 1815 is 39mm. We know that each extra mm can be felt... and that's the case here too. The Duometre is huge. And this feeling is  enhanced by the bezel which is thinner than the 1815 one.
