And finally ..... PP Amagnetic ref. 3417
Hi Guys
after some considerable search, inspecting four or five of them in the last years, it's now at my wrist. What I have always loved about the dial is the simplicity - Bauhaus style - and cleanliness of the proportions .... contrasted by the Amagnetic script, italic and bold and pretentious.
The movement of course is also quite a story, in a cage of soft steel to enter the family of the Geophysics, Ingenieurs, Railmasters and the classical antimagnetic watches.
I am a happy boy now

What can I say? You were faster than me, and a traitor did the rest. I am very happy for you, you know how much I like this watch, and being lucky to see it in the flesh was more than a consolation, a Dream! I will have to post about this watch, some pics...

Well, I just checked, and it is written in the Omegamania Book that the Railmasters were resistant to ... 1000 Gauss, exactly like the Rolex 1019, when the former crowned Milgauss was " just " resistant to 800 Gauss. The JLC Geophysic is resistant to 600 ...

Actually I think I've only once come across a 3417 with the original box and original papers and that was at Auction late last year in London but that 3417 didn't have Anti Magnetic on the dial though the dial itself was slightly unusual. Being in London ...

... but there is no picture of the box in their archives. At any rate, it would have been dubious that it was its original box anyway.

Why Dubious? The watch was consigned by a descendent of the original owner,it had the original paperwork from the time of sale so it is quite possible the box with it was original box was there too surely? Roni
