Gentlemen, I just purchased a Patek Philippe 3842R
This one is one of very few pink gold watches in my collection.
What can you tell me about this model and what are your opinions about it, please.
What is the purpose of the screw on the back next to the crown? If for holding the back cover tight I would expect several screws around and closer to the edge of the cover.

Looks like a after-market screw you have there..
I guess Patek Philippe would never design such an odd screw on the back. A big eye-sore --oouch! Even if it is an original part, why shouldn't it be rose gold as well? Larry

I don't think that I would go as far as to say aftermarket, but the different color does seem odd. I have a RG 5010 which uses 4 RG screws to affix the back. Different reference, different time period, yes, but...
