GMT Master I from early 1970's
Attached are few photos of my GMT Master I. This was a wedding present from my Mom to my Dad in late 1972 / early 1973.
I recently had it serviced directly from Rolex, and it works perfectly. The dial is original. Think the bezel might have been replaced.
Can anyone tell me more about this piece? Is this a "great" Rolex? In the world of Rolex, is this something worth hanging on too?

Considering its family origins, I would say that you're a very lucky son.

Hang on to it for dear life, for sentimental value alone. Look up the history of the GMT, it's a Rolex classic! Yours looks very original and in superb condition.

No, the serial number is engraved BETWEEN the lugs.
