Help! is this a fake?
To all the Omega gurus, I seek your advise and expertise.
When a friend offered to sell me his Speedmaster (before seeing the actual watch), I jumped at the chance, for 2 reasons, it was relatively cheap and of course the Speedy is a classic must have. So I asked for him to show me the Speedy first.
Base on what I have learned from the various other sites, I have never seen such a model and I believe it is fake. Can anyone confirm this?
Why I think it is a fake? The sub dials remind me of a Daytona instead, the bezel should be black, the crown is wrong and of course the reference numbers don't make sense to me. Unless I am really wrong here and still need to learn more. Maybe its a frankenstien of different models and parts.
The sad part is, my friend really believes it is real. I think he has been cheated years ago when he bought it. I am thinking about how I should break the news to him.
