Hi Bill, long time! Hope all's well. So, why Omega...

First off, Omega was the only watch brand I remember from when I was a little kid, and that's because I'd always see their name and logo in Olympic timing events. That made me associate Omega with quality and precision.

Second, the company has such a rich and diverse history re their military pieces and their "fashion" pieces.

Third -- and most importantly -- I tend to like their aesthetic. I have weird tastes -- sort of all over the map, from that strange obsession with early quartz Omegas, to the classic Connies of the 50's, to the modern-day PO -- and for whatever reason, Omega has managed to appeal to more of those tastes than any other brand.

I should also mention that I like the online Omega community. I find the Omega forum folks on this and the other popular Omega forum to be really nice, genuine, and extremely helpful people.

Here's what's on my wrist now btw -- the  original coaxial deville, "stealth" model in platinum (I replaced the original brownish dial w/the silver one that came on the WG version):
