IWC Top Gun Ceratanium Rattrapante
Had been lusting after a ceramic/black watch and after this was released was concerned about the 44mm size. The Top Gun Chronograph at 44.5mm wore larger since more dial space, so that ruled out the SFTI version too. I’d been happy with my 3717 Pilot Chrono on my 6.75’’ wrist.
My AD got one in for me to ‘just have a look’-but once it was on the wrist....!
The material is warmer than SS, cool stealth look and the split second mechanism is good fun to see in action. Fabric/rubber strap confirmed as swimproof so let’s see how tough this watch really is!

According to their website the alloy blackens and becomes ‘ceramicised’. The name is just a combination of the two. IWC reckon this is as scratch proof as ZrO2 ceramic but not as brittle-we shall see. 8 year IWC warranty now! Thanks for looking, Nico😎 Dav...

This is my favorite pilots watch in the entire IWC range of pilots watches! The movement was made with help from Richard Habring. It uses a generic base, but the split second part was designed by Richard Habring. A really cool piece, and one of the few af...
