My crazy summer selection of 12 watches.
Why 12? Some may wonder. But it is quite simple. Most of the rest of the year, I wear the same watch for at least two weeks. Sometimes for a a full month. That's the way I like to enjoy my watches. And to be honest, I don't have the time to go at the bank taking watches off the safe. Banks are closed when I come back from work, so...
In summer, things are a bit different, I have a bit more time, and I can escape from time to time. Without forgetting that a wider rotation is a pleasure and an opportunity to rediscover some watches which didn't get much wrist time all along the year. Also a superb opportunity to enjoy new watches additions....
So, this year, I am testing a vintage watch on loan for two weeks, a fantastic one... Have a look at the Breguet forum, but take your pills, as it is really something, a dream for me, which will lead me to sell some watches to be able to fund it...
I am also wearing two Rolex, the Green Milgauss I didn't wear for years! As well as one Tudor.
Other than that, two Jaeger Lecoultre, the Amvox IIP and the vintage Polaris 1965.
Two other watches I got past year and I didn't unveil for the moment... That will take some time, as I am waiting for the right moment to do it...
The 9th one will be the vintage Mido Powerwind Ocean Star. With its colorful dial, it is such a pleasure to give it some wrist time.
The 10th is my " new " Tornek Rayville. A watch which took me 15 years to harass and convince its owner to let it go for me.
The 11th will certainly be my good old Longines Majetek. An immense presence on the wrist, and a huge pleasure to wear.
The 12th? Still deliberating. I have two or three contenders. Next week end, I will know the verdict.
Stay tuned for a crazy horological summer!
Best,
Nicolas
