New Doughs on the Block

 

Many might be familiar with a famous soup dumpling 🥟 chain Ding Tai Feng but there is a rising competition called Dough Zone, which is opening up many stores in West Coast states and Houston, TX. The husband and wife team started from a store in a food mall 10 years ago and has ~20 stores now.

We love handmade dough, dumplings and noodles so my “Boss” and I had to try.

It’s quite tasty and a good alternative to Ding Tai Feng, which is getting pricey.

Enjoy the dough and watches. I am so ready for the week ahead, continue to rotate my watches and getting fresh connections with a different group each week.

The food, the watches, the pairings 👌🏻👍🏻 Sadly we always have to travel to have dumplings - nothing in this neck of the woods 🤷🏻‍♂️

I also love DTF! Always a long wait at the locations near me but it is worth the wait.

Yes, dragging those chairs make me cringe with the sound. I agree this place is a slight notch down DTF but for the price, for now, it is a good alternative....I also agree we can make our hard-earned dough ($$) stretch more in other countries. Cheers, my... 

I find the best eating is done in Japan.

What delicious looking watches. I will take any of them over Din Tai Fung any day.

What a collection and "fashion show" of wrist candy. Thanks for sharing the watches and mentioning the new place for soup dumplings, etc. While I haven't tried Dough Zone (because they are only in the States as far as I can tell) , I gave up on Din Tai Fu...

That is also my fear and concern when brands/companies grow too big. I heard good things about that Nan Xiang...hope to visit Shanghai again someday, last visit was like 20 years ago. I also really want to go to Japan again before the currency gets any st...
