well, after a lot of difficulties (a hazard of living in some spots overseas) i finally received my jlc ewc (not the new texalium version, but the old version).
i'll start by saying that i had been trying t decide between an nsa and the ewc, as some of you may remember. i have a few dive watches already, so i took the ewc route, also because it was potentially more versatile.
anyway, when it arrived, it was not an emotional connection at first. it didn't feel quite right, and it didn't stir my heart the way the nsa does (note to self, get an nsa at some point). but now that i've been wearing it for a little over a week, and come to understand its personality a little bit, i really like it quite a bit. the world time complication is really cool (amvox 5 might be worth a look, no?) and, while i initially thought i'd mostly wear it with the rubber strap, i now like the alligator as well. so as i write this, i really think i've made a good choice. this really is a great watch. i love the appearance, and now that i'm more accustomed to it on my wrist, i do like the look.
i thiink the chrono pushers on my blancpain are smoother, especialy the reset which needs to be depressed firmly in order to reset completely. but the aesthetics have really grown on me overall.
as an aside -- amanico forgive me -- i was not a jlc fan to begin with. something about their watches (reverso aside) always struck me as too delicate. then the nsa drew me in, then reading exposed me more to their amvox and more athletic models, and now i have an ewc for starters! so obviously i've revised me thinking, and would consider myself a fan now.
i'll try to post pictures soon.
