Omega

Howdy, I recently acquired this vintage Omega gold watch that still works and is accurate. I have no idea what the model is and/or value. Appreciate any feedback to determine if I should authenticate and restore. Gold faceplate w/ sub-dial. Omega - Swiss ...  

If you plan to wear it regularly, note that the ends of the bracelet are spring-loaded to expand tightly between the lugs, and they wear away the insides of the gold lugs. It happened on my Grandfather's watch. That can be repaired with laser welding but ... 

Why people fitted them, I will never know. In the 1950's and 60's my father always fitted one, which I remember as a child ruined the look of his watches. I think it was the convenience of just slipping the watch onto his wrist without the risk of droppin... 

. . . that when you take it to a watchmaker, the movement will turn out to be a cal 302, and will date to ~ 1953/54. It's an interesting Omega: solid gold dress model with a screwed back, and appears entirely original to my eyes. Definitely worth servicin...
