Patek Philippe

Please Help

While browsing through an antique shop yesterday a watched labeled Patek Philippe caught my eye I recall my late husband mentioning these watch?s however I also overheard him mentioning the amount of fake watches on the market. So interested in buying this as a gift for my son I thought of purchasing the watch and having it taken to a dealer to have it authenticated however the store has no return policy for any of it's items. So I am trying to do my own home work. And have been looking at Patek?s on the internet with screw backings and have noticed that the watch had notch grooves for taking of the backing where the photos on this sight seem to show divot?s. Also the backing on your watches seem to be plain where this watch had writing including the Patek insignia, name, karat and that it was Swiss made. This watch appeared to be rather modern not like the old watches that my husband kept but I was wondering if any of these markings on the backing could be signs of a fake watch. I would love to get this watch as a gift but fear wasting my money.

Thank you very much

Please feel free to email me at seas_side@hotmail.com as I am worried that if the watch is real it will be bought before I have the opportunity to purchase it.
